Dominic Carter Inspires Families Through Resilience and Advocacy
by Dominic Carter on 10/03/25
Many know me as a journalist and WABC Radio host, but my journey started long before the microphone. Growing up in foster care and facing challenges no child should experience, I learned early that resilience can turn struggle into strength. Today, I share that message with families, advocates, and communities across the country.
My memoir, No Momma’s Boy tells the story of survival through childhood abuse, foster care, and instability. But more importantly, it shows how determination and hope can lead to triumph. That story now inspires audiences nationwide — from Foster Parent Associations in Missouri to Child Advocacy Centers in New York. Time and again, I’ve been humbled by the standing ovations and heartfelt testimonials from people who connect with my journey.
“Your past doesn’t define your future. If I can make it, anyone can.” Those aren’t just words I speak on stage — they’re words I’ve lived.
On the Airwaves
When I’m not speaking in person, you can find me on Talkradio 77 WABC, weekdays at 3–4 PM Eastern, live again from midnight–1 AM, and every Sunday 11 PM–1 AM. Listeners tune in for straightforward conversation, heartfelt commentary, and stories that keep it real.
Commentary That Makes Headlines
Recently, I made headlines when pop star Ariana Grande criticized Trump supporters. I responded directly: “Stick to music, Ariana. Politics isn’t your lane.”
